Instructional Coach Candidate Pool

Teacher Scale, 219-day (11 month) contract

Description: Partners with teachers to ensure equity, opportunities, and access for all students; increases the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction; closes achievement gaps, and provides job-embedded professional learning and coaching in the content areas of literacy, mathematics, social studies, and science; supports and aligns project initiatives to the School Improvement and Innovation Plan; stays current with trending educational research and new learning methodology; uses data to make informed decisions. This is a one-year only position, with a start date of mid-July 2024.

Qualifications:  A minimum of four (4) years of progressive teaching experience within the core content areas of literacy, mathematics, social studies, or science, required. Experience in teaching diverse groups of students, leading teams of teachers, and presenting professional development. Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license or be eligible for licensure by the state of Virginia. Expert content knowledge and pedagogy; knowledge of FCPS Strategic Plan goals; skill in the development of equitable strategies and practices to differentiate learning and meet the needs of diverse learners; skill in leading the work of Professional Learning Communities; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, ability to maintain a commitment to professional ethics. Homebound/Home-based Teachers 

Various Locations
Part-time, Hourly, $50.00 per Hour

Description: Plans and delivers virtual or in-person instruction in collaboration with Out-of-School Support, which provides teachers for students unable to attend school because of medical (homebound) or disciplinary (home-based) reasons; follows procedures and policies for completing required paperwork for reporting purposes; maintains regular communication with staff, students and families. Critical subject areas include: special education, math, science, and world languages; both school day and/or after school hours are available.

Qualifications:  Valid Virginia teaching license.  Ability to provide guidance to culturally diverse students and staff; proficiency in the use of technology; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Auditor

Gatehouse Administration Center
Hourly, $42.34 per hour

Description: Performs a variety of senior level audit procedures including analyses, appraisals, and evaluations of the school division’s functions and activities, either individually or as part of a team. Serve as lead or supervisory auditor for assigned audits and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, with major course work in accounting or finance. Knowledge of the theory, procedures, and practices related to public and educational administration and finance; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. Certified internal auditor, certified information systems auditor, certified public accountant, and/or government auditing professional certifications preferred.

Adult and Community Education (ACE) Enrichment Instructor

Description: The Adult and Community Education (ACE) provides lifelong literacy and educational opportunities for residents of all ages through implementation of best academic and business practices. Our Enrichment Program is now hiring ACE Instructors to teach on Culinary Arts to include international cuisine, baking and pastries, Flower arrangement, Body Care products, Healthy living, Crafts and more. Available to work flexible workdays and evening hours, if needed.

Qualifications: Advanced level of training and proficiency in the subject to be taught. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to provide efficient and effective customer service; ability to conduct presentations and facilitate both in-person and online classes; proficiency in the use of technology to include video conferencing and digital teaching software functionality; ability to create lessons plans and bring current practices to the classroom setting; ability to engage students in active learning; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Bilingual Seasonal Registrar Assistant (Seasonal)

Dunn Loring Administrative Center
Part-time, Hourly, $19.35 per Hour

Description: Assists multilingual registrars in the registration process of language minority students; interviews families to determine student enrollment eligibility; provides multilingual and/or multicultural support to the student and families during the enrollment process; furnishes parent/guardians with appropriate school registration forms and provides assistance in completing these forms; refers families to appropriate staff for further services; performs related duties as required or assigned. Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. This position will be staffed from July 8th through August 29th.

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, plus two (2) year of progressively more responsible multi-language experience with proficiency in Spanish. Experiential knowledge of the culture, customs, and governmental and school services of countries speaking that language; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English, as well as in one of the languages listed above; skill in interview and conference techniques; ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with FCPS and Fairfax County social services personnel, peers, and citizens from varying cultural and/or language backgrounds.

Description: Greets multilingual families in person. Experience in school related services, social work, public relations, or community work experience, preferred. Ability to provide guidance to culturally diverse personnel; proficiency in the use of technology; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Bilingual skills in Spanish/English, preferred.

Description: Provides supervision of students throughout the school day to include but not limited to the classroom, hallways, lunch, recess, specials and at arrival/dismissal; helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students; operates technology; performs administrative and noninstructional duties; ensures all layered prevention/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed; works with individual and small groups of students.
